Housed in a converted prison from 1850, Falu Fängelse Vandrarhem offers unique accommodation in old prison cells. This hostel, 20 minutes’ drive from Borlänge, offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking. Dormitory rooms at Falu Fängelse have 2 or 4 beds with shared bathroom facilities in the corridor. Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a common TV room. BBQ equipment is available in the furnished pavillion. The hostel features a museum with free entrance on the basement level. It contains prison cells and historical pieces from the prison’s operational period from 1850 until 1995. Located 2 km from Falun Central Station, Falu Fängelse Hostel is also a 10-minute walk from Lugnet Sports Centre. Staff can recommend area activities such as golf, fishing, skiing and hiking.
