Barking Owl Retreat features two fully self-contained cottages located in a secluded valley on the Atherton Tablelands. Both cottages have a private deck with BBQ facilities. and views of the countryside. Each of these open-plan cottages offers private luxury accommodation with plush sofas, orthopedic queen-size beds, a double sofa bed, a large bathroom with double spa bath, and a fully self-contained kitchen. They also offer an LCD TV and DVD player. Upon arrival, guests receive free chocolates and 70 grams of 100% Australian freshly roasted locally grown 'Cairns Highlands Coffee'. Each morning, a continental breakfast hamper is delivered to your room. Local wineries and coffee plantations are located within a 10-minute drive. The dam hut has an open fireplace for toasting marshmallows and nuts or just keeping warm in winter. The dam also has a jetty. If you're lucky you might even spot a wallaby on the property. Barking Owl Retreat is a 10-minute drive each from Atherton town centre and Lake Tinaroo Dam. It is only 15 minutes from Yungaburra and just over one hour’s drive from Cairns International Airport.
