Base Wanaka offers dorm-rooms and private guestrooms in the centre of Wanaka. The hostel is only 2 blocks from the lake and close to many local shops, cafés and supermarkets. This backpackers offers modern and comfortable dormitory style accommodation, including special female-only dorms. There are also a number of normal guest rooms with private en suite facilities. Bedding is included in all room types. Communal facilities at Base Wanaka include a TV room and internet café. There is a fully-equipped guest kitchen and a lake view balcony for everyone to use. The Mint Bar Café is open from 16.00 hours every day and offers a good selection of value meals.

Please note that guests under the age of 18 cannot be accommodated during the Christmas and New Year's period 20 December - 11 January. Please note that for bookings of more than 2 guests, beds in the same room cannot be guaranteed. Check-in time is between 07:00-20.00 hours. Late check-in outside of these hours is possible in the Mint Bar. Please note that there is a 2% charge when you pay with a credit card. Please note that Base Wanaka does not accept payments with American Express credit cards. Please note that bedding configuration for bookings of private doubles/twins made after 12:00 (noon) on the day of arrival cannot be guaranteed. Breakfast consists of unlimited cereal, coffee and tea.
