Located on the seafront, Oban Youth Hostel offers rooms with private toilets and showers, and is just 10 minutes’ walk from Oban rail and bus stations. Kitchen and lounge facilities, free on-site parking and free bicycle storage are also provided. An internet hotspot, laundry facilities and luggage storage are available. Full English and continental breakfasts are on offer in the modern dining room and snacks and drinks can be bought in the on-site shop. Oban is known as “The Gateway to the Isles" and the ferry port is just a 15-minute walk from the hostel. Oban Distillery is only a 10-minute walk away and features a Sensory and Flavours Tour which runs regularly throughout the day. The impressive McCaig’s Tower is a 15-minute walk away.

Please note that free parking spaces are limited and are on a first-come, first-served basis. SYHA is a charity aiming to inspire all, especially young people, to broaden their horizons, gain knowledge and independence through new experiences of adventure and discovery. In support of this aim, all bookings will include a temporary membership fee per person per night. (Full, existing members of SYHA and HI using these channels are not entitled to a membership refund). From the age of 5 to 15 years, young people must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and may be accommodated in a single-gendered shared room with the parent or guardian and other guests, at the discretion and responsibility of the parent or guardian. The young person/people, the parent/guardian and the other occupants of the room must be of the same gender. When booking for more than 9 persons, different policies and additional supplements will apply. When booking for more than 9 persons, 100 percent of the total amount may be charged any time after booking. Please note the following cancellation charges will apply to your full booking: - More than 8 weeks (57 days or more) 20% of total cost. - 8 – 4 weeks (56- 29 days) 55% of total cost. - 4 – 0 weeks (28 - 0 day) 100% of total cost. SYHA advise that additional notice be given to the destination youth hostel when travelling with children, to ensure that suitable accommodation is available. Contact details can be found on your booking confirmation. Parties with young children (under 5 years) will only be accommodated in designated family rooms, where available. There is no capacity for extra beds or cots in a shared dormitory or private accommodation. No stag or hen parties are permitted at any youth hostel. Depending on location check-in is either 15.00 or 17.00. Please check these times as stated on your reservation (or on Booking.com) before arrival. SYHA does not accept American Express cards as payment or guarantee. Refunds: should you be entitled to a refund or part refund please note that these are processed by SYHA National Office, Stirling. It will take 7 to 10 working days from the date of us receiving your request for the refund to be processed back onto the original card used. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly with the contact details provided in your confirmation. Please note that the full amount of the reservation is due before arrival. SYHA will send a confirmation with detailed payment information. After full payment is taken, the property's details, including the address and where to collect keys, will be emailed to you.
