Built in 1862, Bon Accord offers accommodation just 3 minutes’ walk from French Bay Beach. Guests are given a free 500 MB WiFi voucher on arrival. Set in historic Akaroa on the Banks Peninsula, Bon Accord Backpackers is 10 minutes' walk from the colonial Akaroa village galleries and shops. It is a 1-minute walk from Te Whare Taonga Museum. Lake Ellesmere is a 50 km drive away. Each accommodation has towels and hot water bottles provided. All rooms have shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Guests are welcome to use herbs and spices from the garden and enjoy the shared kitchen and barbecue facilities. There are 2 guest lounges, each with a sofa and DVDs. Local activities can be booked at the tour desk and include swimming with dolphins, kayaking, horse riding and hiking. The helpful staff can also assist guests with bike hire arrangements.
