Located in the Cairngorms National Park, this restored Victorian shooting lodge has kept many of its traditional characteristics. Muckrach Country House Hotel offers a restaurant and bar, serving locally sourced produce. Each room features an en suite bathroom with either a bath or shower, and complimentary toiletries. Rooms offer an iPod dock, and some with flat-screen TVs and seating areas. Guests have the use of a reception, drawing room and library, with a log burning stove, and have access to free WiFi. The restaurant serves an à la carte menu which guests can enjoy from breakfast through to dinner. Muckrach Country House Hotel also features a coffee shop offering indoor and outdoor seating, a bar stocked with over 100 whiskies and 30 gin varieties, and a terrace bar. Muckrach Country House Hotel boasts views of the mountains, and on the 10-acre grounds guests can see a Scottish castle. The area is known for outdoor pursuits, such as walking and cycling, and the hosts are able to help arrange shooting, fishing or golf. The house is a 3-minute drive from the A95 road, and offers easy access to Aviemore and Grantown-on-Spey, which are both within a 20-minute drive.
