Offering spectacular views across the Dolomites, Rifugio Velo Della Madonna is set atop the Pale di San Martino mountain group. Its restaurant serves Trentino specialities at breakfast, lunch and dinner. This family-run property is set at an altitude of 2358 metres above sea level, and can only be reached by foot. It is ideal for hiking excursions in the summer and skiing along the Dolomiti Superski area in winter. With a choice of rooms and dormitories, accommodation at the Rifugio is cosy with wood interiors. They also feature a TV, telephone and a shared bathroom. Velo Della Madonna is in the mountain village of San Martino di Castrozza. It is near the National Park of Dolomiti Bellunesi and is 90 minutes' drive from both Trento and Bolzano. The Rifugio cannot be reached by car. From San Martino Di Castrozza it's a 4-hour walk uphill.
