Set in the Bedfordshire countryside, the Airman Hotel is 15 minutes’ drive from Hitchin and the A1(M) motorway. The restaurant and bar feature fresh-cooked food, beamed ceilings and a log fire. The Airman Restaurant serves British and international dishes, including English pub favourites such as fish and chips. Continental and cooked breakfasts are available. Entertainment, including live music and DJ nights, are offered in the marquee, which has its own bar. Meppershall village, a mile from the Airman, is home to rare black squirrels. The Museum of Military Intelligence and the Stonden Transport Museum are both within 10 minutes’ drive. Luton Airport is a 30-minute drive from the Airman Hotel. Stansted Airport and central London are just over an hour away. Parking is free at the hotel.
