Quick description
This large stately manor house is home to Möckelsnäs Herrgård; amid beautiful surroundings in the heart of the beech wood forest of Småland. Situated close to the birthplace of the famous Swedish botanist, Carl Linnæus, Möckelsnäs Herrgård’s origins date back to the 14th century. The historic Möckelsnäs Herrgård is located close to the easily accessible nature reserve, Kronan and offers an abundance of activities that take in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Möckeln. The orangery and Linné display garden have been laid out according to Linnæus's plans and in 2007 were built especially for the 300 year anniversary of Linnæus. The restaurant serves high quality ecological food, flavoured with herbs from the Linnéan garden. Below the 17th century cellar vault is the wine cellar perfect for small parties and cheese, wine, whiskey and chocolate tastings. The restaurant at Möckelsnäs Herrgård is supplemented by its bright, new meeting facilities and the 46 renovated hotel rooms are tastefully decorated with green shades and warm, natural colours.
