Built in 1862, Switzerland's first jail hotel was used as Lucerne's central prison until autumn 1998. Today you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Jailhotel and the Jailhouse Lucerne club. All rooms have private bathrooms with showers and hardwood flooring. The Erlebnishotel Jailhotel is located right in the heart of the historic Old Town of Lucerne, only 5 to 10 minutes' walk from the railway station and attractions such as the Chapel Bridge and the Bucherer Watch Shop. Guests can have fun and dance in the on-site Jailhouse Lucerne club, open from Thursday to Saturday night. In addition, the same building also houses the Lion Club, which guests at the Jailhotel can access free of charge.
