The luxurious Sun Island Resort & Spa features 9 dining options, an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi. Each spacious villa is fitted with a balcony and TV with cable channels. The villas at Island Sun Resort come with a seating area and DVD player. The private bathroom offers hot shower facilities and a bathtub. Facilities at the Sun Island include a fitness centre and sauna. The resort provides snorkeling and diving equipment, while sightseeing arrangements can be made at the tour desk. Local and international buffet spreads are available at Maaniyaa Restaurant. Barbecued seafood is served at Guraamuli Grill Terrace, while Italian cuisine is offered at Ristorante Il Pontile. Alternatively, Thai dishes can be found at Sun Star, and refreshing beverages at Mekunu Bar. Sun Island Resort & Spa is a 30-minute domestic flight (wheeled aircraft) from Male International Airport. A mandatory transfer is provided by the resort, and charges are to be paid upon arrival.

Guests must advise their arrival and departure flight details at the time of booking, at least 72 hours prior to arrival. The air transfer lasts 17 minutes, travelling between Male International Airport and Maamigili Airport. This is followed by a 10-minute speedboat ride from Maamigili Airport to the resort. This additional cost is to be paid directly to the resort. Till 27 December 2017 round trip transfer costs are as follows: Child (below 12 years) - USD 126 (subject to tax) Infant (below 2 years) - Free Note: To reach Sun Island Resort & Spa on the same day, guests must arrive at Male International Airport on international flights before 22:00. Please note that the property cannot organise same day departure domestic flight transfer from Sun Island for guests leaving with flights departing Male' before 09:00 hours.
