Boasting an enormous Japanese garden, drinkable alkali hot-spring water, a summertime outdoor pool, sumptuous Japanese cuisine and indoor and outdoor hot-spring baths, Shoufuen is 5 minutes from JR Ajiro Train Station on the free shuttle. The Japanese-style rooms at Shoufuen Ryokan overlook the gorgeous garden and include an LCD TV and a mini fridge. Yukata robes, slippers and green tea complete the zen experience. Guests sleep on the tatami (woven-straw) floor in futon bedding. Some rooms have a private bathroom. Koyama Rinkai Park & Beach is a 10-minute walk away, and Ajiro Fish Market is a 5-minute drive. Atami Castle is a 12-minute drive away, and on-site parking is free. To use the free shuttle, call upon arrival at JR Ajiro Train Station. During the summer, you can go fishing or play tennis. Karaoke provides year-round fun. The lobby has free Wi-Fi, and the reception can rent laptops to guests. Go, Mah-jong and Shogi (Japanese chess) can be played for a fee. A set-menu breakfast and Kaiseki course dinner are served at the 2nd-floor dining area.

Guests with a tattoo may not be permitted to enter public bathing areas and other public facilities. Guests without a meal plan who want to eat dinner at the hotel must make a reservation by 15:00 the same day. A room with private bathroom and toilet can be requested, but availability is not guaranteed.
