A 100-year old Japanese townhouse, cosy inn Gion Morisyo features Japanese-style accommodation, free Wi-Fi and a garden. It's a 5-minute walk from both the Yasaka Jinja Shrine and the Kodai-ji temple. Air-conditioned rooms have a tatami (woven-straw) floor, a low table and seating cushions. Yukata robes and a thermos with green tea are provided, and guests sleep in traditional futon bedding on the tatami. A shared bathroom is for private use, and comes with a bathtub made of cypress wood. Gion Morisyo is a 5-minute walk from Kennin-ji Temple, and a 20-minute walk from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. From Kyoto Station it's a 20-minute bus ride and 3-minute walk from the bus stop. Famous novelist Junichiro Tanizaki spent lots of time at Morisyo Gion, calling it the Flowers Inn. The hotel is completely non-smoking, and it has a curfew at 23:00. Guests with a breakfast-inclusive rate can enjoy Japanese-style breakfast at the dining area.
