This splendid 13th-century palace boasts a picturesque setting in Gräfenthal, in southern Thuringia, and offers wonderful views of the surrounding Schiefergebirge mountains. The Schloss Wespenstein is home to a guest house in the former prison offering 2 comfortably equipped rooms and an apartment. There is also a large beer garden, a welcoming restaurant with a knight's hall and a historic chapel, where Martin Luther once preached and which can be used for weddings. A palace tour is available on request. Situated close to the Bavarian border, it invites you to explore the surrounding forests or to visit the nearby Max & Moritz Erlebnisbahn (adventure railway).
