Quick description
On a 500-acre estate surrounded by lush green valleys, salmon-stocked rivers, and trees representing the battle of Waterloo, this 18th-century Georgian country house offers luxurious, elegant accommodation and stunning cuisine. In the heart of North County Cork, looking out over the valley from the hillside, Longueville House is rich in historic character and traditional charm. The beautiful countryside and the tranquil grounds are perfect for long walks and some of the region's world-class golf courses are within easy reach. The house has been owned by many generations of the O'Callaghan family since the 18th-century. The house boasts many unique touches, including ornate, Italian-designed ceilings, a marble dining room statue of Neptune, and mahogany doors. The spacious and elegant rooms are tastefully decorated in a country-house style and feature modern en suite bathrooms, with fluffy cotton towels and good-pressure hot water. The Presidents Restaurant is at the heart of Longueville and the hotel's head chef trained under Raymond Blanc (Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons). The superb food is made using produce from the estate and the two-acre walled garden. Guest can also dine in the stunning Victorian conservatory, with its original ironwork.
